The Smokefree Air Society:
Creating a Smokefree Legacy Together
The American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation’s Planned Giving Society, the Smokefree Air Society, offers an excellent opportunity to provide a lasting legacy for everyone's right to breathe smokefree air. The following information is available to assist
individuals considering such a bequest.
We encourage individuals to work with a professional when considering your planned giving options. If you do choose to make
a bequest to the ANR Foundation, the
following sample clauses may be helpful depending on your wishes:
General Bequest:
"I give and bequeath the amount of $____ to the American Nonsmokers'
Rights Foundation, located at 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Suite J, Berkeley, CA,
94702 at (510) 841-3032."
Percentage Bequest:
"I give and bequeath ___% of the total value of my estate to the American
Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation, located at 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Suite J,
Berkeley, CA, 94702 at (510) 841-3032."
Bequest of a Residue:
"The rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal,
wherever situated, I give and bequeath to the American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation,
located at 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Suite J, Berkeley, CA, 94702, at (510) 841-3032,
to be used as the Board of Directors directs."
Designated Bequest:
"I give and bequeath to the American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation,
located at 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Suite J, Berkeley, CA, 94702 at (510) 841-3032,
the sum of $____ to be used for _(specific
program or project)_. However, I understand and agree that if, at some time
in the future, it is no longer practicable in the judgment of the organization’s Board of Directors to use the gift for the purpose
intended, the Directors shall have the right to use the gift for whatever
purpose they deem necessary and reasonable in accord with the intent described
herein.”
